Liquid growth medium is inoculated with the sample (blood) from the patient. In case of microbial growth, CO2 will be generated, and it is ionized to lower the pH level. The acidified medium then changes the sensor color from bluish green to yellow, and the color change is detected by the LED fluorescent sensor to judge whether microorganisms are present or not.
